Wake the Witch

A group of friends are out in the woods helping with a class photo project when they stumble up on a chain buried in the ground. Curious as they are they follow the chain to see if the tree still exists where the witch was hung as legend says for her crime of killing children.

After an uneventful day the kids return home to see the strange events starting to unfold.

This movie has about all you could want in a horror movie. Young attractive girls, Creepy people who stay at the edge of vision that could attack you or just merely disappear. An infection that has that is close to the flu, and a town that wants to keep their dark secret.

Acting in the film was above average for most of the b-rated movies I see. The film starts out at a slow pace and have the music effects gradually increase to provide the tension.

There were parts in the film where the light was so low it was hard to see anything at all or know what was happening.

Unfortunately for me this happened at the very end of the movie and left me wondering what exactly really did happen.

Acting 4/5
plot 3-4/5
music 2-3/5 (had a hallow feel to it but kept repeating the same sound as terror arose.)
Location 4/5

Give this movie a go the next time you want an original horror film of suspense.

Sinbad and the Minotaur

Sinbad and the minotaur is about Sinbad and an adventure to get the treasure of Minos.

Along the way they run into a sorcerer and a demon in a humans body that can't be killed. There are sword fights, belly dancing and of course people transforming into bulls.

This movie was spot on for a b-rated review. Sinbad reminds me of a biker. At one point they get back to the camp and explain that they have a map to treasure and they will be leaving the next morning. The crew says we can get provisions this week and study the map. Sin bads reply is "Details,,,, Details.....We leave tomorrow"

What a great gruff line was that.

Costumes for the cast were beautiful. Scenery was excellent since it was shot in Australia.

There are a few parts in the movie where it is very slow but power through it and finish it it will be worth it.

Costumes 5/5
Belly dance in opening 5/5
acting 3-4/5
Action 3/5
Over all I say 4/5

The Lost Future

I was pleasantly surprised by this movie in the fact it was made for tv. This was way better quality and acting then most of the straight to dvds that I have seen as of late.

In a distant future of earth mankind has fallen to ruins and has embraced our past nomadic culture.

If the wilderness wildlife isnt enough to kill you there is a mutated infection that gets past by contact and close proximity to the infected. The infection turns the victims into vicious wild people.

After the village is attacked and most seal themselves off into a cave a small brave group of 3 must journey outside of their area for help and to see if they are not the last of humanity.

You have a young man who's father was a explorer against the village elders. Since his father never returned from one of the outings he is a bit of an outcast. He has to try to prove his worth to the tribe.

Throw in a few females that are nice to look at in leather and you got just about any man interested in watching how the film turns out.

Finding a yellow powder that cures the infection is interesting, but knowing they have to snort it just makes the movie a trip.

If you get a chance grab this movie you'll be glad you did.

Acting 4/5
Appealing leather 5/5
Plot 4/5
Landscaping 5/5
Overall Enjoyment 5/5

Look for this on SyFy.
